Multicultural Poetry

 Today's Poetry was about comparing two things using personification. We had questions and then had to create our own.

The poem was

In te reo Maori the word for books and the word for lungs are the same.

They can both hold breath

I can feel my tipuna's words on my tongue the sigh of a turning page 

I am poem

I AM Carlosi

I am  Carlosi

I wonder if I will have a good reputation 

I see Goodness everywhere I go

I want a good life

I hear Laughter and joy in my class

I am Carlosi

I pretend I’m good at everything 

I feel Great when I see family

I touch everything I like

I worry about losing my family

I cry  when I lose a family member

I am Carlosi

I understand when bad things happen

I say  I like everything 

I dream To cross the world

I try my best in everything I do 

I hope I’m a good person when I grow up
