Big impact on your life

The person that has had a big impact on my life is my mum Josephine cause she helps me out every time I need it. And she always puts food in the cupboard and tacks time for me and my siblings she makes  dinner  and packs my lunch that is the person who makes a big impact on my life.

Water project

The water project are people that give and help countries that don't have clean water. More the 300,000,000 people don't have accesses to clean water. One of eight people walk miles just to find water. The water that have to drink is filed with pollution and animal waste. It makes kids sick  and can not go to school. It will kill more people then all the sicknesses and wars put together. so there trying to give clean water to those who need it. So they said to collect the water from the rain and stuff. They work all around the world.

Diwali Art

I Learnt about Diwali Yesterday. Diwali is a day to celebrate the day that Raman and Sita came back it is a Indian Holiday. You would probably get some knocks your door from your neighbours with sweets and more. You would probably get some new clothes for Diwali. And get some pretty decorations for homes to but you should go by dawn cause they might be all sold out.And you uselessly forgive the people that you have had trouble with with some sweets. And Diwali is the Indian new year.

AUT Millennium

On Tuesday Last Week.

Me my Class, Teacher and some of the seniors went to A.U.T Millennium for the day and did four activities Kayaking,Water Safety Stuff, Rock Climbing and Athletics. And the thing was we had to be at School by 7.30 PM and so I woke early and got ready to go to school. When I got to school I was on time thankfully so when I reached my classroom we waited for the others to come when nearly everyone was here we started to get ready and hop on the bus but some people did not get to come because they did not turn up. So my teacher told the seniors to hop in groups and then she will send them off to their parent helper so in my group was Caterine,SYC,Antonio,Ngwe Sin and some others but I forgot them and our parent was Sana Catherines aunty. So when we got to A.U.T Millennium we had a little snack and then one of the workers came out and took us inside so we were walking around and then they started  telling us the rules and boundaries and then my Teacher told us that we are in group 3 and 4 go get changed into our togs cause we were doing swimming activities first and I am in group 4 so we got changed and headed up these stairs so we waited for them to come and take us to the pool area so they came and took us to the pools so what we hat to do first is put on life jackets and then jump in the pool so they knew we were comfortable in the water so did all and then we learnt about the kayaking and how we do it so we did that and then hopped in the kayak and all the stuff with that person and then we moved on to the other person so all we did was learn how to survive when stranded in the ocean so we learnt some cool things and how to stay warm and some cool stuff and then we got changed to go and have lunch when we met up with the other kids we went in a room to eat and the amazing thing was they were giving us lunch so they talked about healthy eating and then we ate burritos so we ate and then they gave us goody bags so we got it and moved to our next things that was rock climbing and athletics so we did those and headed to the bus so we hopped on the bus and headed back to school.

INFERENCE FOR READING

Today we learnt about Inference. So what it is so if you have a short sentence and look for the key words about someone, Something or what they are doing. So in my reading group we got 3 papers  filed with Inference questions and we just hat to answer them. I like doing that kind of reading and now I know what Inference is. 

9 x Table

Today at maths we learnt a method for the 9 Times Table. So what you do is you get a 9 times table. For examples 9 x 5 = and then yo get all your fingers and if it is 9 x 5 you take away the 5 finger so you look on your left hand and see all the fingers left so there would be 4 fingers left cause you took the fifth finger so you have 4 and the look at your right side and you have five fingers so the answer is 45. So now you know how to solve 9 x table. So if you have another question you put down the number that is timing with 9 x table.

DROP COVER HOLD

Today we did a drop cover hold poster cause we are doing the drop cover hold with the hole world tomorrow. So what you do is drop to the ground cover by going under the table and hold by holding the table leg. I will now show you my poster.

 

Ace

Today we room 9 made a google doc or drawing and we did a little poster for it I will now show you mine. If you like it tell me in the comments. 

Fire

Today for writing we did a sheet about Fire that is Fun,Integrity,Respect and Excellence so what we hat to do is right how I will show the value this term the we draw a picture for each one. For Fun I did Enjoying myself. For Integrity I did picking up rubbish even if it is not mine.For Respect I did being kind to every one. And for Excellence I did to finish my work on time.

Measuring

Today we were measuring things we were given a paper with 1 cm 10 cm 20 cm 30 cm 40 cm  50 cm 1 mitre 2 mitre with all those measure mints we would find things around the class and find things that we think is 1 cm and the other things but we would not measure the things yet we would estimate all of them then measure them then we write how long all those objects and give the paper to my teacher. These are some of the things we measured  look at some of those things and see if you can guess how long it is. 

   

Reorganisation for reading

Today in room 9 we did reorganisation for reading it is like when you are related to something or some one and you get separated but still related to that thing or someone, For example if you have a sister that goes to school or work with you they  are related to when you go to school but then when you get to school you go to 1 class and they go to the other class.  So you  guys are separated but still related and so now you know what reorganisation.

Lolly maths

Today we were doing lolly maths so we would get a fruit burs it is a lolly we eat the lolly then we keep the rapper we slowly rip the lolly rapper but we keep it together so we don't make little pieces we tear it and it is still together we had a challenge it was how can make the longest lolly rapper however won they get 3 more lollies. The trick is to make the rapper smaller and thinner my rapper     was 49 cm.

Cross Country !!!

Yesterday it was Cross Country at Glen Taylor School and we had to wear our house colours: Taurere,Kaiahiku,Maungarei and Te Wai o Taki. I am in green so I wore a t-shirt with green on it and white shorts. Then we went to the field and started cross country. First it was the juniors and then the year levels went higher and higher until it was the year fives' turn. We started running and then I fell so I was no longer in the front but that was OK. I still kept running but then I started to get tired. But I kept running cause I was not even half way yet. When I got further I was getting really tired and starting to want to stop but I didn't and I  never gave up. Even though I didn't come 1st 2nd or 3rd I still had fun.   

PSYV Camp On Saturday

Hi it is me again I will now tell you what we did on Saturday

On Saturday we woke up and had a shower and waited for breakfast when every one was ready and waiting for breakfast the guy came in and said who is hungry  we all said me.............. we were so happy it was breakfast time we were all walking out of our cabins but  we went to the hall to dance instead after that we went to get breakfast it was so amazing their was different kinds of cereals,porridge, this apple thing and yogurt it was so yum we were also allowed seconds so most of us did have seconds. After that we did duties so we were all put in to colour groups one group would go to a place somewhere at the camp site and tidy that place up after that we went bake out side and had free time to play after playing for half an hour it was morning tea it just a biscuit and a cup of water well we did that the adults were in the dinning room getting told all the activities we were going to do their was 4 activates one group would go to one and move to anther after they did that one I was in the purple group and we went to shot the borrow narrows I was up first on my first try I did not get the board the next try I did my last one i did also not get it then my turn was over then the other kids went and then we had more terns then it was time to go bake after when we got their it was lunch we had lunch and some free time then it was the next activity my group went to the hall to play games. After that we went bake to have another cookie and glass of water then we had more free time then bake to our activities but this time would be told to go to the next activity my group went to the guns these guns were designed for kids OK. It was so fun shooting the guns but then it was time to stop it was good timing cause it was starting to rain. Then we went to our last activity it was cooking pancakes on a can but my group couldn't cause the rain but we cooked it on a stove instead so we could still eat pancakes after every one was done with the activities we went the deck and we did some things for a while  then we it was night so we had dinner and we did our duties but we did not go to sleep we went on a Burma Trail we were told that we were going to walk thorough on part of the forest we were all scared cause it was at night time and we couldn't see so we hat to hold on a rope if we did the Burma Trail we would get marshmallows and a hot chocolate when we all got out of the forest we had a shower cause it was muddy in the forest then we hoped in bed and went to sleep. PSYV Camp On Friday

Last week on Friday 9 kids from Glen Taylor went to camp and those people were Me,Catherine,Savannah,Kayla,Antonio,Bullard,Joseph.B,Joseph.T and Faiana. with other schools so about 50 kids went to this camp site. On Friday morning we went to Pamure District school and played games well waiting for every one else. When every one got their we were called group by group to get our stuff and go to the bus. When we were all on the bus we did not go to the camp site right away we went to the pools and swam for 1 hour and a half well something like that then we hoped out and ate something it wasn't to  big cause we were hoping bake in we hoped bake in and swam some more and then some of us were already getting out like me I hoped out and got ready with the others when we were ready some kids were still swimming so we played games and waited finally every one was out and changed after that. We were going to have pizza but instead of going on a bus we walked for 10 minutes we went to this big place it was like a hall in the hall we played games like wink murderer. then we had pizza and hoped on the bus again. When we hoped bake on the bus it was sunrise also it was Glen Taylor disco the glen Taylor kids really wanted to go disco especially my friend Catherine so she was singing and dancing in the bus. It was a long ride. Then we got their it was night time so we learned about the rules the went to our rooms after going to our rooms we came bake and had a cookie and some water then went bake to our rooms had a shower got our beds ready and the lights off. But before we did all of that we went to the hall that is out side and played games then we did all of the showering and stuff.

My favourite Toi Toi Story

Today my reading group was reading the Toi Toi books. My favourite one was Ice Window  I love the art work and the different colours. I also love the different shades. My favourite part is the writing it is short but tells you a lot about the picture and I am looking ford to reading more of the storeys and amazing pictures and the Interesting  writing. Now I will write the hole story down for you. The mountains are gilded with silence. It is sunset at midnight. Midnight The rising water carries the mountains Eerie ice floats in the water. The scream of the wind spreads a chill over the window. I dream in white I dream in white. And that is the story I hoped you liked it cause I loved it.

   

Number Sense flowers

Today with maths we did number sense flowers it is were you roll 345 or 6 dice and the numbers you get you have to think of a number with those numbers you have and I rolled 6 dice and my number was 222,346. Then it flower has some questions like 10 more and 10 less or  in words I like doing the Number sense flowers cause they were really fun and cool to work with friends.

Science exhibition

Today Glen Taylor school went around to the other kids classes to see what they were  learning for science last term. We did it cause we also wanted to look at heaps of science and how to do it all. My favourite classes were room 13 and room 7 I liked room 13 because their were crestless and colourful things and I like room 7 because their was a lot of information about space.  Like their are 8 planets in the solar system. and I wonder what they are going to do next year. I liked going to the other classes and seeing what they learnt. I am excited for the next science exhibition and seeing what the classes do for the science exhibition. And when it comes around I want to learn about plants and how they grow. And I also want to learn about Animals life and if they are like humans. Or maybe electricity.

   

Our science boards

In room 9 we have been making and designing our science board for the science exhibition the science boards are about cow and how it is made as well as how butter is made. The amazing group is Catherine, Syc, Ngwe Sin, and me we worked really hard on this it turned out good we hope others will like it as much as we like the other ones.
   

How milk is made

How is milk made 

Milk is made in different ways. One way that milk is
made is through cows. 

Cows eat 70 kgs of grass a day then it goes through 

their 4 stomachs that they burp back out. 
the farmers tack the milk from the cow then it goes in
to the tanks.

It will go through 1 of the stomachs that squeezes it
then it goes through the 2nd stomach to help it digest
so it can burp it back out. When they burp it back out it
is not grass. It is called cud. They burp it out then they
chew it for 1 more minute then it goes back through the
mouth, then through the last 2 stomachs and then it
will fully get digest. The nutrients from the digested
grass goes into the bloodstream of the cow.

Then the cows are taken to the milking shed where
the cows are milked. The milk gets put in to a machine
that's called vat, where it is stored for a bit before going
through the separator. It separates the cream from the
milk. Then it gets pasteurised.

Then it gets put in to the tanks then the tanks are
taken to the Dairy factory.

The milk is put into bottles then they are taken to
the shops.

Once they are in the shop ready to buy people will
come and buy them.

Then the milk is poured in to a glass for you to drink. 

Milk is good for us because it can help us with our teeth.
And will make us get stronger. It also has protein in it so
that will give us strong bones. So that's why it is healthy
for you and me it offers a rich source of calcium, a mineral
essential. And that is what will make us have healthy teeth
and bones.

   

Kapa Haka at Stone Fields school

Today it was my kapa haka groups performance at Stone Field school there was about 6 schools that were going to perform. When we were getting change we had finished our chowder said only were your nickers but said I said I don't won't to and one of the others said I don't to ether so she said to me and him it is ok. We were also talking about the seven sisters then it was our time to perform I was kinda nervous but  I was proud I was doing it at the end we went to get change then it was morning tea so we at and had some fresh air out side but we were not aloud to play because of the ran. Then more schools performed and it time for lunch after lunch we learnt some songs and the actions to them then we performed to our parents all the things we learnt then we hoped back on the bus and went back to school.

I read a story about how kids get to school their are so many ways for them to get to school and i put them all on this picture of a bus that has all of them that I know and the cool ones that were on the interesting story.

Sick at home

On Monday week 9 2019 I did not go to school because I was having really bad headaches and had a fiver. I was really sad that i could not go to school. But I hat to rest so i could get better so i stayed in bed going to sleep and waking up again. So many times then i ate something like a soup that was not yum but i ate it.

My Holiday Snap shots

1.  It was fun at the Easter show but it was smelly because the animals in the farm.
2.  I went to my naans house and i saw my aunties and uncle also my favorite cousins in the world.
3.  We all went to the park because we all wonted  to go on the flying fox.
